- Over 17 years experience as a Personal Support Worker
- Member in good standing, Ontario Personal Support Worker Association
- Extensive experience providing support to seniors with :
-
- cognitive impairment, including mild to severe dementia
- psychosocial challenges (e.g. isolation, depression, anxiety)
- various mobility levels

- Assist with bathing, grooming, nutrition (including meal preparation), personal hygiene (including oral health), and elimination needs (also called toileting) and provide light housekeeping
- Offer companionship, including engaging in safe physical activities, board and card games, organizing social gatherings, reminiscing and having conversations (these are the favourite parts of my job!!)
- Transport and accompany to appointments
- Errand and shopping assistance
- Trained and able to assist in administering medications, with some limitations
- Worked in long-term care facilities, retirement residences, and individual homes
- Knowledge and application of infection prevention and control
- Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED certified (St. John Ambulance)
- Oral Hygiene Certificate
- Attend workshops offered by, for example, the Alzheimer Society of Ontario (e.g. U-First!) and the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine, Institute for Life Course and Aging (e.g. elder abuse)
- Vaccinations complete and up to date, including COVID-19 with booster
- Ontario G class driver’s license and clean driving record
